Assessment for College Students & Adult Learners

This assessment is conducted to establish that the individual has a disability and the types of accommodations (testing and classroom) that may be required to be successful. Once the assessment is completed, the student usually works with the College’s disability office to ensure compliance. Mind Metrics can also provide testing for adult learners to inquire if they may have a Learning Disability, ADHD, Autism, or a Mental Health Diagnosis that may be impacting their learning and/or social functioning in the educational and/or work environments.

Our practice specializes in completing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations for teenagers and adults for school, work, standardized tests, and licensing exams.

Every standardized test or licensing examination has specific requirements and deadlines regarding requesting accommodations. The most common tests include:

  • SAT Accommodations

  • ACT Accommodations

  • GRE Accommodations

  • LSAT Accommodations

  • MCAT Accommodations

  • GMAT Accommodations

  • California BAR Exam Accommodations

  • USMLE Accommodations

We have extensive experience completing high-stakes academic accommodations evaluations for the toughest standardized tests including the California Bar Exam, MCAT, LSAT, and USMLE.

A comprehensive evaluation is essential if you are applying for academic accommodations on these exams. The evaluation will determine an accurate diagnosis and explain the academic accommodations you need to play on a level playing field with your peers and perform at your true potential.

A typical evaluation for academic accommodations includes the following:
  • A comprehensive clinical interview to help us understand important psychological, medical, educational, and social background information as well as your current cognitive and psychological functioning.
  • Review of medical, psychological, and school records that help us have a better understanding of your psychological functioning and academic performance.
  • Depending on the medical or mental health condition, we will administer psychological and neuropsychological tests to evaluate the following:
    • General intellectual abilities
    • Educational achievement (Reading, writing, spelling, and math abilities)
    • Higher-level executive skills such as reasoning and problem solving
    • Attention and concentration
    • Language comprehension and communication
    • Visual-spatial skills and perception
    • Memory impairment
    • Motor and sensory skills
    • Mood and personality
    • Psychological diagnoses
  • After we complete the evaluation, we will write a comprehensive report that integrates our findings and give it to you, your school, or the standardized testing company.
  • We will also conduct a feedback session and go over the results of the testing and our treatment recommendations.
